Quick Fix: Postman Pat

Struggling to get your children to write during the lock down then why not see if they’d like to write a letter to their friends or family or keep a diary?

My son is 4 and has been checking in on his friends to see they what are doing by writing letters! He’s not at school yet so we thought this might not be appealing but writing for a purpose has meant he’s enjoyed the whole process of writing, sending and receiving (a bit like Postman Pat).

As a bonus he’s also started to learn how to form his letters using Ruth Miskin’s Letters and Sounds jingles.

If your child is at school this should help them with handwriting, spelling, punctuation and grammar. It’s also a good idea to get the child to read what they’ve written aloud to check all the above.
